Dinos Pete Mitros

September 18, 1932 – August 9, 2026

Dinos Pete Mitros, a strong, loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and beloved great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, perseverance, and devotion to the family he cherished above all else. 

Dinos was born in Travato, Greece on September 18, 1932. On May 16, 1956, he came to the United States in pursuit of a better life and the opportunity to build a future for himself and his family. His determination and strong work ethic became the foundation of a remarkable life. In August 1961, he proudly became a United States citizen. 

On December 12, 1959, Dinos married the love of his life, Hilda Robinette Mitros. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, hard work, and countless memories. Hilda was his devoted wife and lifelong partner, and their love remained a constant throughout their many years together. 

Dinos was a hardworking and successful businessman who owned and operated numerous businesses throughout his life. His ventures, with his uncle Chris Mitros and brother George Mitros included Capital Lunch, Inc., Capital Billiards in Welch. He also owned Dino’s Disco, Longhorn Supper Club on the Welch-Pineville Road, Indian Creek Trailer Park, Capital Grocery, and several other small businesses on the Welch-Pineville Road, with his wife Hilda. Through his businesses, he became a familiar and respected part of the community. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. 

While Dinos accomplished much in business, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a strong and loving man who took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was at the heart of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. His strength, wisdom, determination, and love will continue to live on through the generations he leaves behind. 

Dinos was preceded in death by his parents, Panayatis Kalogeromitros and Olga Kalogeromitros; his brothers, Demetrius Kalogeromitros and George Mitros; and his sister, Gianoula Basilios. 

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 67 years, Hilda Robinette Mitros; his daughter, Dina Smith; his grandsons, Darrell G. Smith, Dinos Justin Smith and his wife Stephanie Smith, and William “Ted” Smith Jr. and his wife Caroline Smith; his granddaughter, Andrea N. Pruitt and her husband Brian Pruitt; and his great-grandchildren, Mason Smith, Levi Smith, Eliana Smith, Jaxon Smith, Liam Smith, Andrew Smith, Addison Smith, Amariah Smith, Jose Rizo, Briana Rizo, Alissa Rizo and great neice Isabella Sopala who he considered as a grandaughter. His brother Chrysostomos Kalogeromitros and wife Mary Ann; sisters Helen Lamaris and Husband Steve; and Elftheria Kalogeromitros. His exteneded family included a host of brother and sister-in-laws, neices, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers: close friends and family. 

Dinos will be remembered for his strength, his generous heart, his unwavering dedication to his family, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family forever.

 He lived a life built on courage, hard work, love, and family. His greatest legacy is the family he leaves behind—a family who will carry his memory and love with them always. Rest peacefully. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed beyond words..

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Roger Robinette officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
