Dewey W. Quick, 98, of Princeton, died peacefully Monday afternoon February 24, 2025, at the RidgeCare Assisted Living, Halls Ridge Road, Princeton. Born October 12, 1926, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Frank Quick & Bessie Lee Asbury Quick. Dewey was educated in Mercer County, he entered the service on January 3, 1945, to served with the U.S. Army during World War II. While serving, he received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Dewey had worked for Rockwell International and retired from Bluefield Community Hospital as Director of Plant Maintenance. While his health permitted, he had attended First Assembly of God on the New Hope Road in Princeton. Dewey loved his family, he enjoyed woodworking, working with his hands, spending time on the farm, family gathering, hunting and going to the beach. Dewey's favorite word he loved to use, "Fantastic". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Timothy Quick and a granddaughter, Ericka Quick. Those left to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife, Georgia Mae Quick, one daughter, Rebecca LaCroix & husband Ray, One grandson, Matthew LaCroix & wife Carley, Stepchildren, Donna Yourovski (Alex), Peggy Eaves, Brenda Mitchem, Diane Cole (David) & Michael Ferrell. Several step grandchildren & great grandchildren. One brother, Bobby Quick (Viola), and his four-legged companion Friskie. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Randy Sargent officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the services hour. Family will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to express gratitude to RidgeCare Assisted Living and Amedysis Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
