Demetrios "Jimmy" Tsipliareles, 71, of Lick Creek Road, Pipestem, WV, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Charleston Area Medical Center with his beloved family by his side after a long illness. Born July 18, 1952 in Lemnos, Greece, he was son to the late George and Barbara Tsipliareles. Demetrios will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Over the years, Demetrios and his wife, Nicole owned numerous restaurants, earning him the nickname "The Pizza Man." His Greek and Italian dishes garnered him praise and many a newspaper and magazine articles, and appearances on media programs discussing his roots in Washington Heights, NY and the success of his businesses. Demetrios was a true fixture in the community, always a familiar face with a smile and a dance in his step. A member of Browns Chapel United Methodist Church, he will be truly missed by the neighbors and friends he cherished in life. In addition to his parents, Demetrios was predeceased by his sister, Anna Lambropoulos, of Union, NJ., and his mother-in-law, Vikki Jennings of Virginia Beach, VA. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife and love of his life, Nicole Tsipliareles, son Brandon Tsipliareles and his wife Tiffany, son George Tsipliareles, and his darling grandchildren, Ava, Aiden, Riley and Alaina of Newport News, VA. He is also survived by his baby sister, Helen Tsipliareles Pryor and her husband Mark of Virginia Beach, VA, and his niece Delilah Penelope of Alexandria, VA. Additionally, his brother-in-law Joel Grigg and his wife Tara of Virginia Beach, VA.
The family has honored Demetrios' request that his body be donated to the West Virginia Medical and a private remembrance will be held by the family at a later date. Demetrios truly made this world a better place and will be remembered for his shared wisdom, his unfaltering love and dedication to all he loved, and his jovial laughter and love of life.
