Darlene Rae Stauffer, 80, of Bluefield, died Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 15, 1943, in Bremerton, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Harold Rasmussen and Melva Irene Robinson Bostrom. Darlene worked as a secretary, licensed certified nurse assistant and did private duty work for many years. While her health permitted, she enjoyed going to the beach, boating, skiing, camping, hiking in the mountains, crafting and her cats among many other things that brought joy and fullness to her life. Darlene loved life and her family most of all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 50 years Harry Dietrich Stauffer. Those left to cherish her memory, her six children, Gregory & Breda Stauffer, Denise & Chris Vanderbilt, Janice & Bill Gustafson, Deborah Riffe, Janine & Dan Rice, and Jimmy Stauffer; Fourteen grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; One sister, Laurel & Roger Burritt. The family has honored Darlene's wishes, she has been cremated, and the family will have a ceremony in Florida later this summer.
