Danny Lee Owen, 85, of Fairway Drive, Lerona, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born January 23, 1939, in Portsmouth, VA. he was the son of the late Robert Earl Owen and Louise White Owen.

Danny loved his Lord and his family. He served his county honorably in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Lerona United Methodist Church. Danny retired from Pike Electric Corporation as a Line Crew Supervisor with several years of service.

He had a 1978 King Cobra Mustang which received many honors and awards and was written up in the Mustang Monthly Magazine. Danny enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR and the NFL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Larry Owen and also a son-in-law, Tim Spangler.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Delores (Muffet) Jean Hill Owen; Three children, Jerry Owen (Christine), Sonny Owen (Karen) and Sherri Russell (Roger); Three step-children, Terri Corprew, Drema Spangler and Tammy Scarbrough (David); Two siblings, Robert (Bobby) Owen and Jackie Owen; One half-brother, Mike Owen; Six grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren; Seven step-grandchildren; Ten step-great-grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and his church family also survive; Two furry buddies, Nosey and Twinkle Toes.

Services celebrating the life of Danny Owen will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Lerona United Methodist Church with Pastors David White and Jay Bunting officiating. Following his services, the family will honor Danny's request to be cremated. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to Bowers Hospice House of Southern WV, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV  25801.
