Daniel Epling Rorrer, 83 went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2022. Danny was born April 18, 1938, and was raised in Princeton, WVA. He married his high school sweetheart and chemistry lab partner Barbara Kirby in 1957 and enjoyed 64 years together. Dan graduated from Virginia Tech with an Aeronautical Engineering degree and later graduated from Brevard Engineering College with a Master's of Science and Space Technology. Upon graduation, with one son in tow, they moved to Cocoa Beach, FL where he worked for NASA. Several years later, they returned to Princeton where he was a plant engineer for North American. In 1970 they moved to Rockville, MD where he was employed with the National Bureau of Standards. Also, at this time he served on the board of the Rockville Nursing Home. In 1997, after being retired for several years, they relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC during this time he served on the board of the Red Cross. In 2019, Dan and Barb moved to Tampa, FL to be closer to family. Dan enjoyed reading, fixing things and solving problems. He could improvise most anything to make it work. He was a true engineer of things and impeccable in memory of details along with being a mathematical wiz. Danny was an Eagle Scout, a certified scuba diver and a private pilot. He was a lifetime member of the Princeton Masonic Lodge #134, a Kazim Shriner and a lifetime member of the Princeton Elks Lodge #1459. Dan was a member of the Myrtle Beach Presbyterian Church. Dan is survived by his wife Barbara, Dave and Steve (sons), Mike (brother), Candy and Chery (sisters), Wade and Tyler (grandsons) along with many other family members. Predeceased by his mother (Josephine) and father (Daniel J.) Masonic graveside rites will be provided by the Princeton Masonic Lodge #134 A.F. & A.M. at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
