Daniel W. Mooney, 84, of Princeton, died Monday, May 4, 2026, Princeton Community Hospital. Born April 13, 1942, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Willie Mooney and Ina Kirby Mooney. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sisters, Alice Mooney, Maxine Mooney, Betty Mooney, and Wilma Mooney; and brother, Clinton Mooney.

Daniel was self-employed as a painter and a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He attended Fairview Christian Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Lynn Hatcher Mooney; children. Carrie Hill and spouse, Kenny and Candance Mulligan and spouse, Shawn, and Juliet Thompson; granddaughter that he raised, Tawana Wirts; grandchildren, Jason Thompson and Kelly Thompson; siblings, Ronnie Mooney, Johnnie Mooney, Patricia Waugh, Glendale Robertson and Garland Watson; and brother-in-law, Kermit Hatcher.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory, with Pastors Larry Dyer and Blake Bivens officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
