Obituary

Dane W. Bolin Jr., 64, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Known for his kind heart, Dane truly never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Dane found his greatest joy in spending time with his two grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Whether cheering them on in sporting events or simply enjoying time together, they were the light of his life. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fanatic, with a special passion for NASCAR.

He dedicated many years of service as a class 4 water treatment plant operator, working in various cities throughout West Virginia and Virginia. His strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community were evident throughout his career, from which he eventually retired.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Dane Bolin Sr., and mother, Freda Bolin of Athens, West Virginia; his daughter, Maranda Bolin; and his cherished grandchildren, Makalee and Kason Wright. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Lovell & husband Ronnie Lovell Sr.; his special nephew, Ronnie Lee Lovell Jr., and wife Sara; nephew, Richie Lovell and wife Beth; along with other extended family and friends.

He will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and the genuine love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Athens Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Mabe Officiating. Pallbearers will include family and close friends.  Those attending the service are asked to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton no later than 3:45 p.m. to proceed to the cemetery together.
