Dana Preston Shrewsbury, 91, of Northview Avenue, Princeton, died Friday, April 12, 2024, at Glenwood Healthcare Center in Princeton. Born October 17, 1932, in Pinoak, he was the son of the late Lonnie P. Shrewsbury and Zettie Leah Laxton Shrewsbury. Dana loved the Lord. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Dana served his country honorably during the Korean War and was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with Consol Coal Company with 40 years of service. Dana enjoyed woodworking, working with crafts and he especially loved chopping wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Norma Jean Mann Shrewsbury, two sons, Eddie Joe Shrewsbury and Tommy Dwayne Shrewsbury and three sisters, Ella Dale Tolliver, Winnie Blackwell and Lora Midkiff. Left to cherish his memory includes, One son, Ronnie Paul Shrewsbury and wife Anya; One daughter, Debbie Kidd and husband Darrell; Daughter-in-law, Linda Shrewsbury; Four g randchildren, Preston Donald Farley Shrewsbury, Michael Shrewsbury, Joseph Shrewsbury and Taylor Mae; Three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Shrewsbury, Annie Rose Shrewsbury and Thomas Shrewsbury; One sister, Linda Lou Matthews; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Dan Thyng and Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
