D. Audrey Wood, 91, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, with her children by her bedside. She was born April 15, 1932, at Elgood, she was the daughter of the late Carson and Emma Meadows Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Calvin Wiley Wood and a granddaughter. Audrey was full of life.  She served the Lord, and was cherished by her family and loved being a nurse. Audrey had a long career in the health care industry, serving as a nurse with Princeton Memorial Hospital, PCH and retiring from the Maples Nursing and Retirement Center at the age of 80. Those left to cherish her memory, are her devoted and loving children, Beverly Anderson (Robert), Randy Wood (Ila), Cathy Comhs, Jacque O'Brien (Kevin) and Janet Panashy (David); Eight grandchildren; Sixteen great-grandchildren; Eight great-great grandchildren; Her family expresses great appreciation for her caregivers, Janet & David, Cathy, Ila whom she always recognized and Hospice Compassus. Services to celebrate the homegoing of Audrey Wood will be held at  1:00 P.M., Monday, June 26, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Eddie Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Monday from noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
