Cyrus "Sonny" Truman Lilly, Jr., 92, of Mill Dam Road, Spanishburg, died peacefully, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Bowers Hospice in Beckley with his family by his side. Born, October 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Cyrus T. Lilly, Sr., and Ethel Stovall Lilly.

Sonny was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved his Lord was a member of the Spanishburg United Methodist Church and a graduate of Spanishburg High School. Sonny served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and served during World War II. He was an avid WVU fan, enjoyed fishing, farming and operated a poultry farm all his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his loving wife Ida Pearl Campbell Lilly and three brothers, James, Ira Byrd and Percy Lilly. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted son, Cyrus T. "C.T. Lilly, III and his wife Amy; One grandson, Cyrus T. "Tru" Lilly, IV; One sister, Betty Hoffman; Extended family, Clay, Harley and A.J. Perdue; Caregiver, Ole' Mary Farley; Several nieces, nephews and his church family also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors C.T. Lilly, III and Richard Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Reid Cemetery in Spanishburg. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
