Obituary

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. Psalms 33:22

Colton Leslie Block, 24, of Princeton, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, April 22, 2025. Born January 24, 2001 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Stephen Leslie Goodrich and Misty Block Meadows. Colton graduated in 2019 from Princeton Senior High School and was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia shortly after. He would say " I don't regret having cancer, it showed me what was important in life." He never complained, He would thank his medical team for taking care of him even when it was painful. He was inspired through his illness to start a charitable organization called CB Workin for JC. Helping others was important to him and we will continue this legacy. Colton was a force to be reckoned with while playing League of Legends. He liked basketball, cornhole, chess and fishing. His desire was to attend Mashall University when his health permitted. He was employed at Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center prior to his illness. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Aunt Betty Vandall, Uncle Tommy and Uncle Clark; grandparents, Ralph and Rose Goodrich; "Duncle" Aaron Smeltzer; Pastor CB and his great grandparents. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Misty Meadows and her partner, Craig; grandmother, Linda Dunn; sister, Kensey Block; brothers, Elijah Meadows, Conner and Collin Brown; cousin and best friend, Riley Kanode; aunts, Staphanie Kanode, Kerri Marquis, Virginia Hull, Barbara Dunn; uncles, Andrew Dunn, John Dunn, Jerry Kanode, and Edward Pender; several more aunts and great aunts; close friends who know this battle all too well, Tyler and Lilly Collins; close friends, Khayman Your, Debra Seal, Nick Bailey, Quinton from the Bronx, and his "cancer dog" India. Services to celebrate the life of Colton Block will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M., April 29, 2025, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory with Preacher Aaron Blankenship and David Furches officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 10 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home on Tuesday. Elijah Meadows, Conner Brown, Jeremiah Fontaine, Edward Pender, Brandon Powell, Riley Kanode, Seth Stewart, and Justin Vanthyne will serve as pallbearers. Please feel free to wear any color to the service in celebration of Colton's life. Refreshments and memories will be shared at Princeton Praise and Worship Center following the graveside.  Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Block family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
