Obituary

Well done, good and faithful servant...
Enter into the joy of your Lord."
- Matthew 25:23

Claude Hazelwood, age 82, born November 15, 1943 passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Claude proudly served his country in the United States Army. His time in the Army reflected the strength, dedication, and sense of duty that defined his life. He carried those values with him long after his military service ended. Following his years in the Army, Claude built a career as a purchasing agent, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity. He took great pride in providing for his family and approached both his career and personal life with steady commitment. Above all, Claude cherished his family.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Betty Ann Hazelwood. He was a proud grandfather to Claude Roland and wife Kelly Roland, and Daniel Roland and wife Danielle Roland. His greatest joy was being "Papaw" to his great-grandchildren: James Roland, Ava Roland, Lydia Roland, Noah Roland, Austin Shields, and Catelyn Roland. Each of them held a special place in his heart.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Hazelwood and Josephine Hazelwood; his sisters, Joann Moody, Helen Nuckols, Elaine Hazelwood, and Alice Frances "Frankie" Kinder; one brother, Tom Hazelwood and son James A. Roland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann Hazelwood; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jerry Hazelwood.

Claude will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy of strength, loyalty, and quiet devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
