Obituary

Clara Jean Wells, 95, of Princeton, died Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, at Nelson's Place in Glenwood. Born November 6, 1929, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Smith & Josephine Kahle Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Ceres Hollow (Green Valley), and a very active member of Greenview United Methodist Church & sang in the  choir. In the last few years, she had attended the First Baptist Church in Princeton. While her health was good, she enjoyed sewing, arts & crafts, and going to the fitness center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. "Bunk" Wells, along with four siblings, Juanita Hager & her husband Clayton, Mildred Johnston & her husband Aubrey, Irvin Smith & wife Judy, Joyce Clarkson & husband Ralph, and brother in law, Calvin Eppes. Those left to honor her memory, her sister, Frances Eppes, two daughters & their husbands, Alena & Tom Mould, Cheryl & Gene Shinault all of Princeton, four grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, Michelle Dye & husband Matt, Melissa Shinault, Matthew Mould all of Princeton, Ryan Mould of Seattle, WA, great grandchildren, Brittany, Laken & Tyler Dye, Izzy Shinault & Madelyn & Abigail Mould. Also, a host of many nieces and nephews and her new friend Phyllis Myles. Special thanks to her loving caregivers from Nelson's Place, Shelby Nelson, Regina, Mary & Becky, as well as Hospice and Dr. Bird for her medical care. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 12:45 until 1:45 P.M. at the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton. A private family graveside service will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Pastors Gerald Roberts & Andrew Maynor officiating. Online condolences can be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Mould, Ryan Mould, Matt Dye, Tyler Dye, Mark Clarkson & Dr. Todd Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial Gift can be made to Compassus Hospice, Mary's Cradle, Carr Memorial Methodist Church or First Baptist Church of Princeton.
