Charlie David Rice, 69, of Spanishburg, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at WVU-PCH ER with his loving daughter holding his hand. Born, January 10, 1954, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Richard E. Rice and Nellie Louise Rice. Charlie worked for 46 years doing delivery, maintenance, and inventory control for Bluefield Hardware, Blizzard Industrial, and Swope Construction. Charlie was a long-standing soldier serving with the Princeton Salvation Army for 50 years. A member of men's fellowship, former Sunday school teacher, and various volunteer positions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Wayne Rice. He is survived by his loving daughter, Angela Vaught and husband Joe; Son, Richard "Riley" Rice, and wife Melie; Grandchildren, Brittany, Autumn and husband Matthew, Joey and wife Maddie, Charlie and Lauren; Brother, Dale Lee Rice and wife Janice; Niece, Laura Sparks. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Charlie David Rice will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, February 18, 2023, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Sergeant Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornton Cemetery, Possum Hollow Road. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family will serve as pallbearers.
