Charles Lewis Hatcher

Charles “Charlie” Lewis Hatcher, 77 of Dunns, WV died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at WVU Princeton Community Hospital after a short illness.

Born in Dunns (Mercer County) he was the son of the late Charles Lewis Hatcher and June Moye Lilly.

Charlie worked for 37 years as the supervisor of Security and Maintenance at Mt. Creek Lodge in Pipestem State Park. He loved living his whole life at Dunns. He was known for lending aid to anyone who needed it. He was well respected and loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Step Father, Carl Lilly. Sisters, Nancy Tolliver, Onie Pittman, Sarah Lilly and Lois Gardner.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth Ann Dugger Hatcher.

Son, Charles “Chuck” Hatcher and wife Robin of Flat Top. Daughter, Jessica Thompson and husband John of Bluefield, Virginia. Step son, Brett Lilly and wife Angie of Lewisburg.

Grandchildren, Haylee Hatcher, Maddy Hatcher, Sloan Hatcher, John Andrew Thompson, Ben Thompson and Jack Lilly.

Sisters, Laurie Lilly of Flat Top, Betty Lilly of Shady Springs, Barb Moran and husband Hal of Princeton. Bonus Sisters, Tandee Carr and Nancy Park both of Florida. Several Nieces, Nephews and

Special family friend, Susie Q. Newton also survive.

Graveside services to be held May 23, 2026 at the Hatcher family cemetery located at Dunns, WV.
