Obituary

Charles Holland Foster, 90 of Princeton died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in Louisville, KY. Born on January 7, 1933, in Princeton, was the son of the late C.G. Foster and Aileen H. Foster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William T. Foster. Charles attended school in Princeton, Victoria, VA and Mullens, WV, graduating from Mullens High School. He served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955 as a corporal in the 1279 th Engineers Division in Germany. He was employed by the Virginian and Norfolk Southern Railway, working in Princeton and Charlotte, NC and for a time at the Celanese Corporation in Narrows, VA. He was an active member in the First Christian Church, serving as a Deacon and Elder. If he ever met someone he didn't know, he quickly changed that, and remembered everyone he'd ever met. Survivors include his wife, Frances Jean Foster and his son Drew H. Foster of Louisville, KY. A graveside service and burial with military honors being provided by the WV National Guard Honor Guard will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton with Pastors Gary Lyons and Steve Janning officiating. Those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery by the service hour. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, P.O. Box 749, Princeton, WV 24740.
