Charles William Bauguess, 93, of Princeton, died Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Ridge Care on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton.
Born February 12, 1933, in Lerona, he was the son of the late George Bauguess Sr. and Minnie Cole Bauguess. Mr. Bauguess graduated from Princeton High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force, while serving he received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, & the Korean Service Medal. Following his time in the service, he began a long career with Kaiser Aluminum Company in Ravenswood, WV as a crane operator for over 34 years. Mr. Bauguess had a strong work ethic, enjoyed hunting, working in the garden, and taking his family on vacation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Louise Goode Bauguess, and his eight siblings, Ray, Ralph, Essie, George Jr., Bennie, Betty Sue, & Lucille Bauguess and Ruth White.
His son-in law Dr. Paul Gilley.
Survivors include his two children, Cindy Gilley of Bluefield WV, Keith “Will” Bauguess & wife Amy of Ripley WV, one granddaughter Dr. Rebecca Gilley of Chicago IL, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV with Rev. Gary Moore officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10:00 until 12:00 noon. Online condolences may be shared with the family via visiting www.memorialfd.com
