Carol Osborne Herald, 99, of Quail Valley, Princeton, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home. Born, June 15, 1925, in Pocahontas, VA, she was the daughter of the late Bryan and Evelyn Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Nelson Herald and her two sisters, Nola Presley and Zelma Bennett, and one brother, Raymond Osborne.
Carol was a 44 year employee of Consolidated Coal Company in Jenkinjones before moving to Pocahontas, VA. She is a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Greg Herald (Susan) of Chalfont, PA; One granddaughter, Cory Kieschnick (Eric); Three great-grandchildren, Ainslie, Asher and Eloise all of Chalfont; Her brother, Manuel Osborne, Hooper UT whom she spoke to everyday; Special nieces, Melva Faulkner, Becky Leonard, Robyn Keener, Evelyn Frost and Susie Romans; Special nephews, Larry and Stanley Presley, Tim, Rodney and John Osborne, and Albert Herald; Caregivers, Evelyn (Sis) Williams and Shelia Summers.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Carol Herald will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 19, 2024, from the Bluewell United Methodist Church with Pastor Sherri Kernik officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens on the Tazewell Road, Bluefield, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Cole Snavely, Keith Williams, Albert Herald, Jeff Richards, Seth Snavely and Danny Newman. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Presley, Larry Presley, Brad Frost, Grady Faulkner, Wesley Leonard, Eric Kieschnick, Paul Bates, and Richard Osborne.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluewell, WV.
