Carol Jean "Gigi" Howard, 80, of Christiansburg, VA, formerly of Princeton, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born March 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William Curtis Bowling and Zola Mozelle McKenzie Virgona, being the first in her family born in Princeton Memorial Hospital. After graduating Princeton Senior High School, Carol was a Teacher's Aide at Knob Elementary School. She was a member of First Christian Church in Princeton. Carol was a devoted housewife, mother, and proud grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed going on car rides through the country and stopping at various restaurants along the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Freddy Bowling; step-father, Tony Virgona; and uncle, Fred McKenzie. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 61 years, Freddie Howard; S ons, Rusty Howard and wife Kelly and Chris Howard; G randchildren, Catessa Howard-Lambert and spouse, Scotty and Taryn Howard.  A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2024 from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Gary Lyons officiating. Friends may visit with family from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Entombment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Princeton.
