Carletta Whittaker, 97, of Princeton, departed her family early Tuesday morning, June 28, 2022, at Princeton Health Care Center. Born October 30, 1924, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Allen Pettry and Cora Ethel Bowling Pettry. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, consisting of seven brothers and one sister. She was preceded by her husband Dewey Whittaker, son Kyle Whittaker, daughter-in-law, Regina Whittaker and a grandson, Kevin Whittaker. Those left to cherish her memory, daughter Mildred "Mickie" Dowdy, of Tolleson AZ; Sons, Dewey Lee Whittaker of Highland, IL and Richard "Rick" Whittaker and wife Sandy, of Lerona; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to staff of Princeton Health Care Center and the nurses on the 4 ^th wing. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in the Athens Cemetery in Athens with Pastor Gene Pennington officiating.
