Carl Crews, Retired CMSgt Air National Guard/US Air Force, age 86 of Vail, Arizona  formerly of Lerona, passed away on Sunday June 2, 2024. Born, November 30, 1937, in Lerona, WV, he was the son of the late Beatrice Foley Moye and Alvin Bernard Crews.

Carl loved his Lord and his family. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Tucson. Carl enjoyed reading his Bible, restoring old cars, going to various car shows, watching NASCAR, playing horseshoe, playing two card games, Phase 10 and Rummy and visiting with his family in West Virginia and Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Earl Moye. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Peggy Cole Crews; Two daughters, Louann Wright and husband Barry; Lorie Price; Two sons, Kenny Nuckolls and wife Paula; Dennis Nuckolls and wife Loganne; Seven grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; Special cousins Linda Cunningham who was like his sister and Gary Foley who was like his brother; Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Carl will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the East Palms Mortuary with Pastor Adam Roland officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
