Brittany Nicole Burks Mitchem, 39, of Kegley, died Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born August 13, 1987, In Bluefield, she was the daughter of Tina Reynolds & husband Keith of Spanishburg and Randy Lee Burks & wife Rebecca.

Brittany graduated from Pikeview High School and had attended Valley College in Princeton. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed working with crafts and loved her animals.

She was preceded by grandfathers Paul Burks & Floyd Lane along with Danny Lambert who helped to raise her.

Survivors include her husband Jonathan Mitchem, two sons, Austin & Dylan Reynolds. Two siblings, R. J. Burks & Tiffany Burks. Grandparents, Doris & Johnny Hazelwood, Ginny Burks.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday August 11, 2026 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center. Friends may visit with the family from 12 Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
