Obituary

Brannon Ellis Pettrey, 25, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Princeton, West Virginia, left our lives too soon on Friday, October 30, 2026, at his home.

Born August 6, 2001, in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was the son of Paul Travis Pettrey, Jr. and Kristy Danielle Vance Lambert.

Brannon graduated from Pikeview High School in May 2019. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time in nature whether it was in the mountains or at the beach. He had a lifelong passion for skateboarding and also enjoyed the freedom and excitement of riding motorcycles. Brannon was a very talented and musically gifted individual. With a natural ear for music, he taught himself to play both the piano and guitar. Music was a part of his life from an early age and remained a passion throughout his life. His many talents and interests reflected his adventurous spirit, creativity, and love for life.

Brannon was a very talented and dedicated automotive technician who took great pride in his work. He was employed at Rick Hendrick Cadillac in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as the Lead Reconditioning Technician. His skill, knowledge, and strong work ethic earned him the distinction of often being recognized as the top mechanic of the month. He was respected for his abilities and the pride he took in his work, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

He was preceded in death by grandfather, Keister Steele; great grandparents, Ruby and Oscar McCoy Jr; great grandparents, Donald Ellis Pettrey and Lavella Pettrey, Daynard Shrewsbury and Ocie Cline Shrewsbury; and grandfather David Atkinson.
