Brandon Matthew Wood, 40, of Winston Salem, NC passed away on April 24, 2026, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital of injuries sustained in an accident.

Born on December 4, 1985, in Princeton, West Virginia, Brandon graduated from Varina High School (Henrico, VA) in 2004, where he became an electrical apprentice.  He honed his skills with several companies and was always eager to learn and grow.

We will miss Brandon immensely for his quick sense of humor, his never-ending curiosity and his undying love for his family.  Brandon had elected early in his life to become an organ donor, and as his final gift, he was able to provide several of his organs to those in critical need.

Survivors include his parents (Jeff Wood and Melissa Riddle); his sister Jessica Turner (Robert); his grandmother (Joann Wood); his stepmother (Sheri Wood); aunts Lisa Miller (Tony); Regina Weeks (Bo), Debbie Barlow (Aaron), Crystal Toombs (Doug), Karen Smith and uncle Freddy Smith; as well as his nieces Lilyann Turner, Gracelyn Turner, Joyanna Turner, nephew Maverick Turner, and Andrew Miller, and a host of other cousins and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents (Bobby and Mary Smith); his grandfather (Harold Wood); grandparents (Tom and Iris Snow); uncle (Teddy Smith) and niece (Noel Turner)

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Lisa Uber from Mama Lisa's Love Community Outreach for her ongoing support and love for Brandon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday May 1, 2026, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Tony Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Family Cemetery on Pine Grove Road in Lerona. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. till service time at the funeral home.
