Obituary

Betty Jean Turpin, 89, of Princeton, West Virginia, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on December 9, 1936, in McDowell County, West Virginia, she spent the greater part of her life in the Princeton area, where she became a beloved part of her community.

A committed follower of Christ from her young adult years, Betty's faith was the foundation of her life. She was a longtime member of Princeton Church of God — now known as Lifeline — where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. Over the years she worked as a bank teller and retail clerk. She had a gift for brightening the room and making people feel loved.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Turpin; two sons; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ellis Rose and Bethel Mae Rose; and her brother, Grandall Lee "Buddy" Rose.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory, 654 Athens Road, Princeton, West Virginia, with Pastor J. B. Hurt officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, West Virginia. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour.
