Betty Jewell Thomas, 82, of Rock Barn Avenue, Princeton, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. Born, December 6, 1939, in Welch, she was the daughter of the late Stonewall Runyon and Mary Lanford Runyon. Betty loved the Lord and was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She had worked for Grant's in the Deli-Department in Princeton and also for Swan Cleaners in Ohio. Betty loved her family, especially cooking those family meals for her family to enjoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Luther Thomas, son David Luther Thomas, Jr., and eight siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Debra Arnett, Shelia Kay Mullins (Charles), Barbara Hall (Benny), Steven Thomas "Joe" (Gennie), Anthony Thomas and Randy Thomas; One sister, Shirley Houchins; Nineteen grandchildren; Several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; One great-great-great-grandchild; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 28, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Mark Burnette officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may visit with the from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
