Barbara Jean Shew Shupe, 83, of True Road, Pipestem, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at WVU Medicine-Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 29, 1940, in Pocahontas, VA, she was the daughter of the late Pervin Willard Shew and Lillian Jane Odham Shew. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her Lord and was a faithful and active member of the Lerona United Methodist Church. Barbara was a graduate of Pocahontas High School and retired with 22 years of service as secretary to the principal of Prince George County Public School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shupe. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Robert (Bob) Shupe; One son, Robert Shupe, II; Four grandchildren; Several great-grandchildren; One brother, Bob Shew; Two sisters, Nancy Hylton and Dottie Mathena; Several nieces, nephews and church family also survive.
