Arin Garth White, 89, of Princeton, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born May 19, 1935, at Springton, he was the son of the late Austin James White and Guyda Elliott White. Arin was a graduate of Matoaka High School, served his country proudly with the U.S. Army with the US 7th Calvary in Korea. He was a former coal miner with Consol, having work at the Buckeye, Turkey Gap and Itmann mines. Arin retired from Hercules Arsenal in Radford VA. While his health permitted, he loved the outdoors, especially fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife Sylvia Clark White, along with two step-sons, Daniel and Ronnie Tignor and a sister Sandra.
Survivors include his son Arin G. White Jr. and Mutsumi; Step-children, Bobby Tignor, Shirley Heffernan and Roger Tignor; Three granddaughters; Two great-grandchildren; Several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; One brother, Leonard White and wife Regina; Special friend, Laticia Blankenship.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 20, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Roger Walker and Joyce Tedder officiating. Burial with military graveside rites provided by the WV Honor Guard will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Friday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
