Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Doyle Patton, 65, of Haymarket, VA, formerly of Princeton, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Stone Springs Hospital Center in Dulles, VA. Born, March 11, 1957, he was the son of the late Terry and Inez Patton. Tony was a loving, husband, son, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a 1976 graduate of Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA, and a 1987 graduate of Concord College (University) majoring in History and Geography. Tony had a infectious personality and smile. He worked for VDOT for 35 years. Tony Loved the Lord and was a member of Painter's Chapel United Methodist Church in Speedway. His hobbies include, being an avid reader, music lover, Civil History, Civil War re-enactor during his younger years, Military History, anything dealing with history, that was Tony. Tony enjoyed watching college sports, NFL football the Washington Redskins (now the Commanders), and Washington National Baseball and the Baltimore Orioles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Salyers and his father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Ellen Pennington. Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Karen Pennington Patton; Adopted daughter and caregiver, Laura Bragg of the home; Two brothers, Michael Patton and wife Barbara of Goochland, VA, Allen Patton and wife Terry of Amissville, VA; Sister-in-law, Kim Catron and husband Gilbert of Athens; Brothers-in-law, Keith Pennington and wife Donna, Freddie Conner and wife Anita both of Speedway; Nieces and nephews, Terry, Mary Beth, Gerald, Scott, Shelly, Lori, Lara, Andy, Matthew, Sara, Michael, Sonya, Josiah, Bryan, Kayla, Brittany and Daniel; Several great-nieces, nephews, friends and church family also survive. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Tony Patton will be held at 12:00 (Noon), Saturday, December 10, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Randy Sargent officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bowles Cemetery in Speedway. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Those unable to attend can view his service thru webcasting on our website. Nephews and Cousins will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
