Ann Lou
White
Aug 3, 1948 — Jun 14, 2023
Ann Lou White, 74, of Athens, peacefully went into Jesus's arms surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born, August 3, 1948, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Charles Oxley and Naomi "Speck" Bird Oxley. Ann was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Ann graduated from Athens High School and attended Little French Beauty Academy. She worked for many years at the Nifty Style Shop and briefly worked as a bus operator for Mercer County Schools. Ann was a Jack of All Trades. Her talents ranged from plumbing houses, and installing windows to sewing dresses, styling hair, and making her famous Alabama Biscuits. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel almost as much as she loved being at home. Her home was a revolving door of children that she became a "second mom" to. Ann was a walking testimony and truly lived out her faith and love of Christ. She instilled this love into her family and even on her last day, her focus was on bringing people to Jesus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, David, a grandson, Charles David White, Jr. and two brothers, Jack Oxley and Bob Oxley. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, David White and wife Melissa, Tony White and wife Dawn, Chris White and wife Heather, Shelley Weiss and husband Joel; Eleven grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; Siblings Stuart Oxley, Fred Oxley, and Bill Oxley and wife Brenda; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. F uneral services to celebrate the life of Ann Lou White will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Lerona United Methodist Church with Pat Haye, Pastors David White and Mike Frank officiating.
