With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved, Alice Frances (Frankie) Kinder, age 86, of Bluefield, WV died peacefully surrounded by her sons and family on January 29, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1938, in Mercer County. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow Hazelwood and Josephine Boyd Hazelwood.
Frankie will be remembered for her strong will, determination, love, and support for her family. She devoted her life to caring for others, selflessly giving her time as a caregiver to both her loving husband, Fred and beloved sister, Elaine until they were called home. Her kindness extended far beyond her family, Frankie found joy in cleaning homes for others, a work she did with a heart full of love and dedication. She was adored by those she served; her warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She touched lives with her humble, servant heart, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Frankie attended Mountain View Church of Christ in Springville, VA and she found great joy in her faith, always trusting in God's plan for her life. She loved her family deeply, and her love will continue to live on in the memories of those who were blessed to know her.
Frankie is survived by her loving sons, who absolutely adored her, Fred (Christy) Kinder of Princeton, WV and Robert (Robin) Kinder of N. Tazewell, VA. Her grandchildren, Brent Kinder, Daffaney Tibbs, Junior Clark, Cathleen Evans, and Cerria Dale. Her great grandchildren, Taylor Tibbs, Sam Tibbs, Kaydence Dale, Jaxon Jordan, and Thomas Evans. Great-great grandchild, Tatum Tibbs. Special roommate, Alice Rhodes.
She also leaves behind her brothers, Tom, Claude, and Jerry Hazelwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, daughter Susan Clark, sisters, Joann Moody, Helen Nuckols, and Elaine Hazelwood.
Frankie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. We find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with those who went before her, and resting in the presence of her Savior.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Princeton Healthcare Center and the team at Compassus. Their care, kindness, and support during Frankie's final days provided comfort and peace. We will forever be grateful for the love and attention they gave.
