Alexander (Buddy) Leonard, Jr., 77, a resident of Princeton, WV, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Alex was born, June 9, 1946, in Tazewell, VA, to the late Alex and Margaret Winesette Leonard. He was a 1964 graduate of Mullens High School and went on to make a career in mining working for 45 years. Alex loved mining and could talk about it all day. After he retired from the coal mines, he found a love for flea marketing and was known as "Toolman" at the Rt 52 Flea Market. He loved his customers and his friends there. Alex loved fishing and just cruising the lake with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Leonard, a special grandson, Marcus Alexander Leonard and his mother-in-law, Nola Presley. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Rebecca Presley Leonard; Sons, William Wesley Leonard of Princeton and Philip Leonard of Layton, FL (in the Keys); Daughter-in-law, Tammy Leonard of Lester; Brothers, Charles Leonard (Diana), James Leonard (Cathy) of New Mexico, Bruce Leonard (Michelle) of Mullens; Brother and sisters-in-laws, Melva Faulkner (Grady) of Princeton, Larry Presley (Karen) of Herndon, Stanley Presley (Annette) of Shady Spring and Robyn Keener (Fred) of Sissonville; Grandsons, Jason Leonard and Alan Leonard of Cates, NC; Many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ron Richards officiating with Jeff Richards and Grady Faulkner speaking. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Family will serve as pallbearers.
